culturally i am jewish, but i don’t believe in any specific religion. not having religion is something i take a lot of pride in. its a point of view that is just as rich as being devoted to a specific religion. more so, people without religion are somewhat of an unspoken for group. feels like having no specific religion has become synonymous with ‘not caring’ or ‘being attached to nothing’, which in itself is very offensive. from my point of view, having no religion is a fascinating and intense belief because many important questions don’t have easy/quick answers, but are obviously still being asked. its like this, if i do something horrible, i have to look in the mirror and deal with what i see. i have no belief that anyone is forgiving me other than myself. i don’t like the concept of praying to something else to cleanse you of the wrong you’ve done. what we do should fall on us only.
