If Dan Savage is a bully, then the religious right are a bunch of equality-loving peace-mongers.

The religious right is accusing Dan Savage of being a “bully” about religion, because some kids walked out of his speech when he was talking about how the bible condones slavery. Instead of listening to alternative viewpoints, these kids would rather leave the room than have their perspective challenged. And these are kids interested in a journalism program?

Savage is legitimately criticizing the religious tenets of their bible; the ones that Christians always ignore or otherwise uphold in order to maintain the extreme religious right narrative about gay people, which conveniently enables religion to maintain control over impressionable young minds and further promulgate hate, fear and misinformation.
